Sustainable Waste Management Solutions
BCx Biocomplex offers a full range of safe biological methods for the treatment of solid, liquid and hazardous waste. Our biological tool Biocomplex is our core technology. We use it on its own or as part of our treatment plants, to remove waste and reduce the costs associated with waste disposal.

How BCxBiocomplex Works
Where there is life, microbes are at work, breaking down waste and building up nutrients. All biological processes and many industries depend on how well microbes perform. BCxBioComplex underpins life by feeding and protecting the microbes in their ‘hosts’ and in the environment.
Supporting the microbes that do this work is complex but we make it simple. Wherever the environment is wet and warm, BioComplex assures efficiency and beneficial biological activity. BioComplex works in waste, in the gut, in soil, water and on skin - wherever microbes live and work.
So, whether it is supplying feed to animals, growing crops, cleaning waste water or producing energy from waste materials microbes make it happen and BCx BioComplex improves the natural process.
Our Process and Effects of BCx BioComplex
We have been producing polyuronic substances from marine algae.
Our raw material is produced from a brown marine alga (Ascophyllum Nodosum). It is mechanically harvested from natural self-rejuvenating fields in the rich clean waters off the coast from Iceland. The freshly harvested algae are carefully dried using natural and controllable geo-thermal heat resources and then ground to the required mesh size. The total process from cutting to milling takes less than 24 hours.
This algae meal from Iceland always has the same quality due to the fresh harvesting method and drying with natural constant heat.
This is totally contrary to algae that washed ashore where the substances contained are often destroyed by biological breakdown (decay).
Due to the high costs of drying mediums gas and oil etc the drying process must be fast, and this can destroy other valuable heat sensitive substances.
Worldwide there are more than a thousand processes that produce alginates and algae derivates using freezing, chemical or heating techniques. We use a biological process that is our secret production method to break down the algae’s cell walls in such a way as not to damage any of the contents and to extract amongst other things polyuronic acids.
As far as we know we are the only producers worldwide that have an extraction method that allows us to make full use of the substances contained in the algae cells. Polyuronic acids produced from marine algae are organic carbons with molecular weight between 20,000 and 400,000. As Prof. Dr. Selman Waksman (1888-1973) found they are having the same structure as the grey humic acids in the soil.
The gray humic acids make all types of soil fertile – from sand to loam – due to their ability to provide buffering substances, ion exchangers, poly-electrolytes and a more or less universal culture medium for micro organisms.
The direct effects of the gray humic acids in the soil are the formation of crumble structures for aerating the soil, the capacity to store water and keep it at the plant’s disposal as well as neutralizing concentrations of chemical substances in the soil to guarantee an undisturbed growing of the roots and the micro-biology.
Gray humic acids will be developed in composts and soils over a period of between 10 and 150 years due to the continual breakdown of the organic mass. The gray humic acid in top soil is the fertility carrier as opposed to the brown humic acid, from peat and brown coal (lignit), which require years of transformation work by the micro-biology to change it into gray humic acid.
The age of the gray humic acid in the soil can be determined by the C14 dating method one finds that the gray humic acids in the soil are up to 2,500 years old and in an amount of approx. 0.0001%.
This amount varies tremendously, part of the gray humic acid will be absorbed by plants, however the greatest loss of gray humic acids is due to the de-polymerization of the molecular nets caused by the sun’s direct rays.
The loss of gray humic acid is visible in wind and water erosion. Soils that are rich in gray humic acid is totally protected against erosion of any kind. With small doses of bio-complex-products we can already bring the gray humic acid into the soil and thus activate the biological circulation in the soil.
Unfertile sub-soil
and sand can immediately be protected from wind and water erosion by hydroseeding with a combination of our products, fertilizer and grass seed.
At the same time this sub-soil develops a buffer-capacity that allows roots to have deeper penetration and has a water holding capacity which ensures the plant’s nourishment.
As stated, the gray humic acids consists of molecular nets and with a use of a “physical” trick we have changed these to semi- permeable membranes in one of our products.
Semi-permeable membranes are responsible for osmosis – the movement of water and nourishment to the side with the highest ion concentration. When this product is applied to the roots of a plant semi- permeable membranes will be formed and ensure the uptake of water and nourishment in the plant.
Therefore a plant that has been treated with this product continues to develop without any transplantation shock and at the same time the other plus factors of the gray humic acid, buffering, crumble structure, water holding capacity and the culture medium for the micro-biology steps into action.
Another of our products uses the sixth group of vegetable hormones, the oligosaccharines (recently discovers by Drs Albersheim and Darvill et Al) which are present in the cell-walls of all plants. As polysaccharides the oligosaccharines are strengthening structural elements in the cell-walls.
However when activated they work at the DNA as blockers of repressors, which before have repressed parts of work of DNA. That means that treated plants can suddenly make use of the before repressed part of the DNA. We have always thought that land plants during their evolution had forgotten to form the full amount of roots.
Marine algae is one of the oldest plant groups in the world and they have no roots. They hold their position on rocks etc. by means of claws or anchoring points. Nevertheless they must have in their genome sequences that work on all land plants because with contact with our product all plants from the smallest weed to the largest tree react by concentrating it’s energy into growing roots and 30-50% more root mass can be reached with just one application.
We have seen for many years that scientists and farmers using the mechanism are producing 10-30% and more increase of harvests in conventional agriculture.
According to scientific examinations the activity of the soil’s bacteria is increased up to 50 % after one treatment. In sugar beets after the application of 2 x 2 liters bio - complex scientists found out that the bacterial activity had a 20 fold increase in the soil.
We use another attribute of marine algae for the biological treatment of organically polluted water circulation systems in the sugar and starch industries this treatment also brings the offensive odor under control.
The use of our Biocomplex product range produces an intensive animal farming that is not only bearable but also profitable by reducing the ammonia emissions by a minimum of 50 %.
The amount of pig slurry is another problem that is solved with the use of Biocomplex products.
These products are either feed or drinking water additives – the result is that
the solids in the slurry easily separates and is very quickly composted and the liquid portion holds no salts after a short-time-aeration (10 minutes in 2 hours) in 3 tanks over 14 days to 3 weeks – without offensive odors from the air in the stable to the end of treatment.
We are convinced that up to now, we use only a minute portion of the substances contained in marine algae and we are constantly searching for new application possibilities.
